Description
1957 5C Jefferson Nickel--On a Split Planchet Before Strike--Ungraded NGC. 2.4 gm. The planchet split in half prior to the strike, perhaps due to improper bonding between the alloy strips. Because the planchet was too thin to fill the dies, the strike was very soft. Lightly toned and satiny with no indication of wear.Auction Info
