1962-D Half Struck on a Quarter Planchet
1962-D 50C Half Dollar--Struck on 25C Planchet--AU 50 PCGS. The lower obverse and upper reverse lettering displays half of the intended striking definition, but the remaining peripheral devices are essentially absent. The date, mintmark, and central devices are nicely defined. The planchet has split at the upper obverse due to the stress of striking. A silver-gray example with no singularly bothersome abrasions.Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 24TS, PCGS# 6683, GSID# 6856)
