Description
1963 Franklin Half Struck on a Nickel Planchet, MS66
Rare Wrong Planchet Error
1963 50C Franklin Half Dollar -- Struck on 5C Planchet -- MS66
PCGS. A very rare wrong planchet striking, this piece is widely
off center with the bottom of the obverse and corresponding top of
the reverse almost completely on the struck coin. The result is
that the date is full and in the central part of the coin. Very
lightly toned with flashy, satin-like underlying mint luster and
showing no mentionable abrasions. From The L. William Libbert Collection.
