    Description

1963 Franklin on a Nickel Planchet

1963 50C Franklin Half Dollar--Struck on a Nickel Planchet--MS64 ANACS. This is a very rare error type that is seldom offered in the market place. Most of LIBERTY is visible along with Franklin's complete profile. Just enough of the final digit in the date remains to confirm that this is an issue of the final year of production for the design. The planchet is slightly elliptical, and some edge reeding is visible along the upper edge. This is a lovely example with satiny and slightly reflective surfaces. Attractive nickel-gray color is accented by lovely rainbow iridescence.
