Description
Half Dollar Capped Die Pair
1964 50C --Capped Die Set--MS65 PCGS. Coin one is a uniface die cap with the obverse impression and coin two is a uniface reverse impression. Two planchets entered the coining chamber simultaneously, each planchet receiving an impression from a single die. The obverse half capped the die and continued to strike a few more uniface reverse pieces. Finally, it fell away, and remained with the last reverse piece that it struck.
