1964 Kennedy Half Dollar, MS66
Struck on a 1965 Quarter
1964 50C Kennedy Half Dollar -- Struck on 1965 Quarter -- MS66
NGC. Well centered, with the border legends partially running
off the flan all the way around. Satiny luster is brilliant and
unabraded. The half dollar strike is rotated about 90 degrees
counterclockwise from the quarter dollar strike. No elements of the
quarter design remain visible in the fields, but part of
Washington's portrait are seen within the details of Kennedy's
portrait, and elements of the quarter dollar eagle are visible on
the elevated portions of the half dollar design. The date of the
quarter is obscured, but the 1964 date of the half dollar in
combination with the clad composition of the quarter leaves 1965 as
the only possible date for the lesser coin.
