Description

Compelling 1964 Kennedy Half Error
Multiple Broadstrikes, MS62

1964 Kennedy Half--Struck Twice, Two Broadstrikes--MS62 NGC. This first-year Kennedy half received two impressions, both of them out-of-collar. The first one was roughly centered, while the second one, oriented nearly toward 5 o'clock with respect to the center, was roughly halfway off-center. No date is visible, but a split in the planchet reveals the coin's interior, which is 90% silver. On the reverse, a series of ghostly mirror-letters and figures of Kennedy's head offer clues as to how this error came to be.
