1968-S 5C Jefferson Nickel -- Double Struck in Collar, Rotated
Die Adjustment Strike -- PR63 PCGS. This spectacular proof
Jefferson nickel has a great deal going on. As the first year of
proof production in San Francisco, Mint workers had a learning
curve and this piece was struck twice with 90° rotation as the
press was set up for full scale production. The light gray surfaces
show proof mirrors in places, with delicate champagne toning.
