Description
1970-D 25C Quarter--Struck on 10C Planchet--MS64 NGC. Weight: 2.2 grams. The date is virtually complete, and is fully legible despite moderate peripheral distortion. Such distortion is diagnostic of a wrong planchet error, since the planchet stretches under the force of the strike and is unrestrained by the collar. A lustrous silver-gray and honey tinged near-Gem with clean surfaces aside from a few tiny green specks on the eagle's right (facing) wing.
