Double Struck in Collar PR66 Cameo 1970-S Quarter
1970-S 25C Washington Quarter--Double Struck in Collar--PR66 Cameo ANACS. The obverse is double struck, with a counterclockwise rotation of approximately ten degrees between strikes. The date, mintmark, and other legends from both strikes are apparent. The reverse (struck from the anvil die) shows doubling only near the eagle's beak. Lightly toned save for deeper powder-blue patina on the eagle's wings.Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 2497, PCGS# 86002, Greysheet# 5930)
