PR66 1970-S Half on a Quarter Planchet
1970-S 50C Kennedy Half--Struck on a 25C Planchet--PR66 PCGS. A most unusual wrong planchet error, since proof sets are supposed to be inspected before leaving the Mint. This oval-shaped example has pristine flashy fields and attractive gold, powder-blue, and rose patina. Uncentered toward 11 o'clock, with most of HALF DOLLAR off the flan.(Registry values: N1)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 24WL, PCGS# 6806, Greysheet# 7013)
