Near-Gem 1971-D Eisenhower Dollar
Struck on a Half Dollar Planchet
1971-D Eisenhower Dollar--Struck on a Half Dollar Planchet--MS64
PCGS. A dramatic wrong-planchet error from the first year of
the Eisenhower design. While the central devices are virtually
intact, the left peripheral devices are missing, including parts of
LIBERTY, IN GOD WE TRUST, and the first two digits of the date.
Slight striking weakness overall is consistent with the undersized
flan.
