Description

1973 Lincoln Cent, MS62
Struck on a 1973 Dime

1973 1C Lincoln Cent -- Struck on a 1973 Roosevelt Dime -- MS62 ANACS. The first strike, as a 1973 dime on a clad dime planchet, was normal. The dime apparently became lodged in a coin hopper, which was loaded with cent planchets. Those planchets, including the dime, were then fed between 1973 cent dies. On the present double denomination "11-cent piece," Roosevelt gazes northwest relative to the portrait of Lincoln. The flame of the torch is above the left wing of the Lincoln Memorial. Both the cent date and the dime date are clear and complete.
From The Denny Polly Error Collection.
