Description

1973-S 1C Lincoln Cent--Double Struck, Flipover Second Strike 60% Off Center--MS64 Red and Brown NGC. The first strike was normal, but the piece failed to complete eject from the dies, and was struck a second time. The second strike was 60% off center toward 10:30, at 4:30 relative to the reverse of the first strike. The second strike was uniface obverse, since a newly fed planchet blocked the reverse die. The coin flipped over between strikes, which greatly adds to the value. Both dates and mintmarks are intact. There is a faint thin mark above the 19 in the date of the first strike.
