Description

1976 $1 Eisenhower Dollar--Die Adjustment Strike--MS60 ANACS. At first glance, this piece appears to be an unstruck planchet. However, the profile of Ike's nose and lips can be discerned, and traces of the left outline of the Liberty Bell are visible. The myriad minor abrasions on each side were on the planchet prior to the die adjustment strike, as the dies were too widely spaced to impress the fields. A faint scrape near Ike's chin is the only post-strike contact of note.
