1976 Clad Bicentennial Half, MS62
Struck on a Quarter Blank
1976 50C Clad Bicentennial Half -- Struck on a Quarter Blank --
MS62 NGC. 5.7 gm. A wrong planchet error on a briefly issued
type. Aligned with the collar at 5 o'clock with edge reeding
visible in the vicinity. Both dates are complete, but
appropriately, most of HALF DOLLAR is absent, as is a majority of
LIBERTY and UNITED. Lightly toned, satiny, and minimally abraded.
The type one planchet likely passed through a half dollar upset
mill but was unaffected due to its undersized status.
