    Description

    Double Clipped, Off Center
    Gem 1976-D Ike Dollar

1976-D $1 Type Two Eisenhower Dollar -- Struck Off Center on a Double Clipped Planchet -- MS65 NGC. Two curved clips, one large and one huge, are centered at 6 and 8 o'clock. The clips, caused when the planchet was punched from stock, likely caused the piece to be misfed. It is struck several degrees off center toward 1 o'clock, with LIBERTY and ONE DOLLAR partly off the flan. The devices are well struck. Lustrous with light honey toning.
