Description
1976-D Bicentennial Quarter
Struck on a Cent Flan, MS61 Red
1976-D 25C Bicentennial Quarter -- Struck on a Cent Planchet --
MS61 Red PCGS. Quarters struck on cent planchets likely occur
fairly regularly at the Mint, but most are detected by riddlers and
destroyed. Not only did the present full Red wrong planchet error
escape the Denver facility, but it is an example of the short-lived
Bicentennial quarter type. Further, the Drummer and dual date are
nearly completely present. The mintmark is on the obverse rim at 4
o'clock.
