Description
Double Struck Off Center Brockage Bicentennial Half
1976-D Kennedy 50C Clad Bicentennial Half Dollar--Double Struck, Both Off Center, Double Brockage--MS64 ANACS. The 'primary' strike is 40% off center toward 12 o'clock, the reverse for this strike is a perfect brockage. The 'secondary' strike is more than 90% off center toward 6 o'clock, only the letter E in LIBERTY and the top center of the hair is present. The reverse for the secondary strike is also a brockage, although a later stage with only a distorted letter L discernible. This combination of errors is probably unique for a Bicentennial Half, and the first strike brockage provides a spectacular appearance.Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# B76A, PCGS# 6727, Greysheet# 6932)
