Planchet Intended for 1976-S Issue
1977-D $1 Eisenhower Dollar--Struck on a 40% Silver-Clad
Planchet--MS62 NGC. Breen-5774. 24.16 gm. Walter Breen in his
1988 Encyclopedia writes, "very rare, about 15 known. Struck
on blanks intended for S-Mint Bicentennials." The Guide Book
records respective expected weights of 40% silver and copper-nickel
Ikes as 24.59 and 22.68 grams. Satiny and sharply struck with light
almond-gold and steel-blue patina.
