Description
Anthony Dollar Struck 75% Off Center, MS64 PCGS
1979-? SBA$ Susan B. Anthony Dollar--Struck 75% Off Center--MS64 PCGS. Struck off center at 11 o'clock. All four digits of the date are present, as is IN GOD WE TRUST, PLURIBUS/UNUM, and ATES OF AMERICA. Although PCGS has encapsulated this impressive mint error as a 1979-P Anthony, the mintmark is not present on the piece. It is usually found above Anthony's left (facing) shoulder, which is not visible on this dramatically off center error. The possibility exists that it is a Denver or San Francisco Mint product. Satiny luster rolls across the light honey-gold and steel-blue patina. The struck portion is well preserved, while the unstruck area has many small contact marks from its peer planchets prior to the strike.(#9571) (Registry values: P2, N1)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 258Z, PCGS# 9571, GSID# 7971)
