    Description

    1981-D Washington Quarter, MS64
    Flipover Double Strike Error

1981-D 25C Washington Quarter Dollar -- Flipover Double Strike -- MS64 PCGS. An impressive double strike Mint error. The first strike occurred with a partial indent over the lower reverse. The second strike occurred with another planchet between this piece and the reverse die. The date and mintmark are visible from both strikes, but the second impression is significantly sharper in the date area. An incredibly well-preserved piece, with satiny nickel-silver luster.
