Description
1983-P Double Denomination Nickel on Cent Error, MS65 Red
1983-P 5C Jefferson Nickel--Double Denomination on a Struck Cent--MS65 Red NGC. Sometimes called a "Six-cent piece," this error is the result of a 1983 Lincoln cent that was mistakenly fed into a press that was coining Jefferson nickels. The orientation is 90 degrees with obverse on reverse, placing the date from the Lincoln cent in the upper reverse field of the Jefferson design, below the word UNUM. Fully brilliant surfaces display deep orange mint color with traces of lilac-blue toning.(Registry values: N14)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 22WL, PCGS# 4110, Greysheet# 3399)
