Description
Important 1993-Dated Washington Quarter, MS64
Struck Five Times on Aluminum Feeder Finger Tip
1993-? 25C Washington Quarter--Struck Five Times on Aluminum
Feeder Finger Tip--MS64 PCGS. Error expert Fred Weinberg tells
us that the present coin dated 1993 is the earliest date known for
this amazing error type. The aluminum feeder fingers are used to
introduce planchets into the coining press, and they would
occasionally break into pieces. When one of the broken pieces fell
into a bin of blank planchets, it would eventually be fed into the
press as if it was a legitimate planchet, creating the unusual
error.
