Description
1995 1C Cent--Counterbrockage, Flipover, Double Strike--MS 63 Red ANACS. As far as we can tell, this planchet was fed into the press and struck with a free reverse die and an obverse die with a brockaged cap. This impression accounts for the raised lip on the left side of the face that was struck with the obverse die cap. The piece was then ejected from the press, during which time it flipped over. At some later moment, the piece re-entered one of the presses. This time, it received an 80% off center stretch strike that resulted in a partial obverse impression and no reverse impression. This latter impression is the only one that displays the date.
