Description
1998 Lincoln Cent Mated Pair
Deep Die Cap, Cupped Brockage, MS64
1998 1C Lincoln Cent Mated Error Pair PCGS. The lot includes
coin #1--Deep Die Cap--MS65 Red and Brown; and coin
#2--Cupped Brockage--MS65 Red and Brown. Coin #1 stuck to the
obverse die after its first strike. It then rotated nearly 180
degrees clockwise between strikes, and a new planchet was fed in,
to become coin #2. Coin #2 was struck between the reverse die and
coin #1, and the obverse received a brockage impression from the
reverse of coin #1.
