Obverse Die-Capped 1998 Lincoln, MS66 Red
1998 1C Lincoln Cent--Obverse Die Cap--MS66 Red NGC. This hapless cent clung to the obverse die upon its first impression from the dies. Subsequent strikes (against newly fed planchets, none of which are included) created a thimble shape, with metal forced around the lip of the obverse die. The reverse is featureless, except for IN GOD from the first strike visible on the reverse edge.Auction Info
