MS66 Red 1998 Cent, Obverse Die Cap
1998 1C Lincoln Cent--Obverse Die Cap--MS66 Red NGC. This impressive die cap cent stuck to the obverse die following the initial strike. Additional strikes, against newly fed planchets, created a cup shape as metal wrapped around the lip of the obverse die. The reverse Lincoln Memorial image is flattened and distorted by the series of strikes against blank flans.Auction Info
