Description
1999 One-Ounce Gold Eagle, MS67
Struck-Through Obverse
1999 $50 One-Ounce Gold Eagle -- Mint Error, Struck-Through
Obverse -- MS67 PCGS. A fully defined and glistening Superb Gem
with exceptional yellow-gold mint luster. A thick, rather lengthy
threadlike strike-through on the obverse was caused by a piece of
coiled up thread stuck to the die face when the coin was struck.
Striking anomalies this noticeable are rare on modern bullion
coinage.
