    Description

    1999 One-Ounce Gold Eagle, MS69
    Pie-Shaped Reverse Strike-Through

1999 $50 One-Ounce Gold Eagle -- Struck Through Reverse -- MS69 PCGS Secure. The obverse of this pristine bullion coin has a normal appearance, but the reverse exhibits a pie-shaped depression, 15 mm in length and 8 mm at its widest. The strike-through extends from the flying eagle's claws to the rim at 7 o'clock. The design is present, but very blurry, within the strike-through, which was perhaps a thin piece of cloth.

Thanks to Heritage I realized a handsome profit for my coin submissions and intend to send most of the remainder of my collection to Heritage Auction Galleries for future auctions.
