    Description

1999-W Tenth-Ounce Gold Eagle $5 Error --Struck with Unfinished Proof Dies--MS69 PCGS. The W mintmark (for West Point) is reserved for proof bullion gold coins with deep cameo contrast. It is unusual for the mint to accidentally neglect to burnish the dies in preparation for proof production. Well preserved and razor-sharp. Both sides have a few freckles of honey-gold patina.(#99940) (Registry values: P1)
