2000-D Virginia Quarter, Struck Multiple Times Off Center
2000-D 25C Virginia Statehood Quarter--Struck 7 Times, 20% to 25% Off Center--MS64 PCGS. After the initial, normal strike, this Virginia Quarter failed to eject from the dies and was struck an additional six times, widely off center relative to the first strike. The additional strikes are closely spaced, the impression of the edge from each strike is visible below the date of the later strikes. The later off center strikes apparently forced the coin against a die collar, which caused a mint-made rim bruise past 3 o'clock.Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 249Z, PCGS# 5965, Greysheet# 5790)
