    Description

    Popular 2000-D Jefferson Nickel on
    Struck Lincoln Cent, MS66 Red

2000-D Jefferson Nickel--Struck on a Struck Cent--MS66 Red PCGS. The date and most of IN GOD WE TRUST are on the copper-orange flan, but much of LIBERTY is missing. Close inspection reveals the cent undertype; it is most prominent at Jefferson's jaw, where Lincoln's hair curls stand out, and in the fields above and below Monticello, which show the ends of the Lincoln Memorial.

With the superb catalog, a masterwork prepared by Mark Borckhardt, the sale was destined to meet all of my expectations; that it did, and then some. Be assured that I would highly recommend Heritage Auctions to any of my associates contemplating the sale
