Description

Distinctive 2000-D Sacagawea Dollar
With Foreign Planchet Undertype, MS67

2000-D Sacagawea Dollar--Struck on an Israel One New Sheqel--MS67 NGC. NGC omitted the weight of this nickel-colored piece. Uncentered toward 10:30 with a complete date and mintmark. Most of Sacagawea and her infant are on the flan. The reverse has no hint of an undertype, but on the obverse, ISRAEL and SHEQEL are visible near the upper and lower rim, respectively, indicating a KM-160a. Housed in a custom-format NGC holder alongside a regular 2000-D Sacagawea dollar and a KM-160a Israel One New Sheqel that is positioned the same way as the undertype on the error piece.
