Amazing 2000-P Sacagawea Dollar Error--Struck 15 Times
2000-P $1 Sacagawea Dollar--Struck 15 Times--MS63 ANACS. The planchet did not eject from the press and was struck a total of 15 times. With a loupe and some patience, one can count each of the 15 impressions on both sides of this fascinating and rare error. No more than six multiple struck Sacagawea dollars are known. Since the Mint has tightened quality control considerably over the last few months, it is unlikely that many more, if any, will find their way into the hands of collectors. As such, our offering of the present example represents a fleeting opportunity for the error specialist. The numerous impressions have thinned out the planchet and given it an irregular shape. Some of the core metal has also been exposed at the upper left reverse border.Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 259K, PCGS# 9584, Greysheet# 7992)
