Description
Unusual 2000-P Jefferson Nickel on a 1978 Lincoln Cent
2000-P 5C Jefferson Nickel--Struck on a 1978 Lincoln Cent--MS64 Red and Brown ANACS. Possibly unique, as suggested by our consignor. This is an exciting and unusual error, and hard to explain under normal Mint operations. The most likely explanation is that a random coin was brought into the Mint, perhaps by a workman or a visitor, eventually finding its way to a hopper of nickel blanks. Fully lustrous with predominately brown surfaces that retain generous portions of orange mint color. From The Bellaire Collection, Part Two.
