Description

Intriguing 2001 Lincoln Cent Overstruck on a 2001-P Roosevelt Dime

2001 1C Cent--Double Denomination on Struck 10C--MS65 PCGS. A properly struck Roosevelt Dime was erroneously fed into a Cent press right side up, but rotated 90 degrees clockwise. With the exception of the lower obverse and upper reverse peripheries, all features of the Cent are present on the planchet. The undertype is also readily discernible on both sides, particularly the obverse, and two dates are evident. The P mintmark for the Dime is also visible. An otherwise silver-gray example with splashes of golden patina here and there.
