2001-D 1C Lincoln Cent--Deep Obverse Die Cap--MS66 Red PCGS. A gorgeous Premium Gem example of this popular error type, created when a planchet stuck to the obverse die as the press continued to operate. It wouldn't take long to produce this error on the high speed presses in use today. In 2001, the Denver Mint produced more than 300 coins every second without a break.
