    25 Bonded Copper Cent Planchets
Forced Together in a Dime Feeder Chute

25 Bonded Copper Cent Planchets Uncertified. The group of 25 copper cent planchets became jammed together in a feeder chute. The force behind the planchets was sufficiently great to curve the planchets, and fuse them together at 12 and 6 o'clock, creating a single copper entity with flat upper and lower shelves. The feeder chute was probably made for dimes, which have a slightly smaller diameter than cents. According to mint error authority Fred Weinberg, this is the only error of its kind to have made it out of the U.S. Mint.
