Curious 2000 Tenth-Ounce Gold Eagle, A Double Struck and Broadstruck Error
2000 Tenth-Ounce Gold Eagle--Double Struck and Broadstruck--MS 69 PCGS. This is a visually stunning example, especially under a loupe. Struck without a collar, both sides display distended borders and extra flan around the lower obverse and upper reverse. Upon closer inspection, one can also see bold doubling on many of the peripheral letters, although the first impression is softly defined in most cases. A bright, essentially perfect example in terms of surface preservation.Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 26LC, PCGS# 9950, GSID# 10699)
