Description

1966 Quarter and Dime Struck Together (!)

1966 Quarter--Struck Together With a Dime Planchet--MS 63. One of the most curious errors we have seen, this piece was made when a dime planchet landed on top of a quarter planchet. The result was a perfectly struck obverse, but the reverse is in two pieces with most of the reverse design on the dime planchet and just a bit of the design on the outer portion of the quarter reverse. Unlisted in the Margolis Error Coin Encyclopedia. Lightly toned.
