1913 5C Type Two Nickel--Lateral Split Planchet--VF 25 Cleaned. Both sides of the split are included and fit together perfectly, each piece being struck on one side with the striated pattern on the other side that is normal on the inner side of split planchets. It is curious that both pieces are still together, especially after so much wear over the surfaces. Perhaps these were pocket pieces and carried by someone for many years, thus rubbing down the detail on the devices.
