Description
Full Brockage Middle Date Cent
No Date 1C --Full Brockage Obverse--Fine 12 PCGS. Described as a full brockage obverse, meaning the design is actually the reverse. The incuse, mirrored brockage image takes the place of the normal obverse design. The design is the general type used from 1808 to 1857, but it is easily narrowed down to 1816 through 1819, due to the specific style of lettering that did not appear on any cents struck after 1819. A brief study reveals that this is an 1817 reverse die, used for the coinage of N-4, N-5, and N-14. EAC 8.Auction Info
