Description

1984 Cent Struck on a 1983-P Dime Planchet MS 65. Double Denomination and Dual Date (extremely rare). This unusual error undoubtedly occurred late in 1983 or very early in 1984 during the transition period between the two year's coinage. The 1983-P dime probably got caught in a crevice of a tote bin at the Mint, and when cent planchets were next loaded into that bin, it worked its way loose and became mixed in with them. The planchets (and the 1983-P struck dime) were then struck by the 1984-P cent dies.
