Description
Jefferson Nickel Struck Over a 19??-P Dime
Undated 10C Jefferson Nickel--Double Denomination on Struck 19??-P Dime--MS60 PCGS. This coin began its life as an ordinary dime, but it somehow found its way between Jefferson nickel dies. By a remarkable coincidence, the portraits of the overtype and undertype are perfectly aligned, such that it appears that Roosevelt's profile rests above Jefferson's collar. A partial date and P mint mark (from the dime dies) are legible on the lower right obverse. The nickel date and mintmark are off the flan. The portrait(s) show a few pinscratches made by a curious finder.Auction Info
