Struck on a 1972-D Nickel
Undated 50C Kennedy Half -- Overstruck on a 1972-D Nickel --
MS66 NGC. The nickel undertype is the Reverse of 1972 with
sharper definition on Monticello. The half dollar date and mintmark
are off the flan. The nickel date and mintmark are indistinct
though the NGC insert states it is a 1972-D. Most of Kennedy's
portrait is present. Jefferson's profile is evident on the eagle's
tail.
