Undated 5C Jefferson Nickel--Obverse Die Cap--MS64 NGC. The cataloger suspects the date is 1981, but the final two digits are heavily distorted from metal flow to the cap, and are also affected by a small split at 4 o'clock. The cap is uneven in height, quite deep near 9 o'clock but less dished near 3 o'clock. The reverse is expanded, distorted from impressions against a series of planchets fed between strikes.Auction Info
