Clad Quarter Split Before Striking
Undated (Clad) Quarter--Split Before Striking--MS 60. A clad layer of nickel fell away from the copper core prior to striking, then fell between the dies, and later was struck as though it were a complete blank. However, the images on each side are weak and indistinct because there was not enough metal to adequately form the set of designs.Coin Index Numbers: (PCGS# 9453)
