Ike Dollar on a Cent Planchet
Undated Eisenhower Dollar -- Struck on a Cent Planchet, Uniface
Obverse -- MS64 Red PCGS. A cent planchet and an Ike dollar
planchet were apparently fed together between the dies, with the
cent flan facing the reverse die. The eagle's head, body, and front
wing is present. The legs, back wing, and tail are partly present.
Not enough of the Earth is visible to determine the subtype. The
peculiar obverse has a deeply incused shape that perhaps represents
the strike of the reverse die through the thinned cent flan. It
also exhibits numerous slender raised lines probably caused by
abrasions on the Ike dollar planchet.
