Description
Choice Red and Brown
Foldover Strike Lincoln Cent
Undated Lincoln Memorial Cent--Foldover Strike--MS64 Red and
Brown NGC. Post-1982 copper-plated zinc composition. A cent
planchet was aligned vertically relative to the dies at the time of
strike. The dies promptly folded the coin in half and struck the
semi-circle portion, with a broad seam missed by the dies. The net
effect is a foldover planchet struck widely off center toward 2
o'clock. Much brick-red is present, along with silver-gray from the
zinc interior.
